Another Met Meltdown

With each demoralizing loss, the New York Mets are nudging closer to making major league history, in becoming the first team not to make it to the post-season after leading their division by 7 games with 17 games left.
The last place Florida Marlins delivered another crushing blow to a punchless team
Friday night, who have now dropped 5 in a row, and 11 out of their last 15, and even more alarming, were evicted from first place in the NL East, replaced by the Philadelphia Phillies, who blanked the Nationals in front of a mob of euphoric fans at Citizens Bank Park.
So while the Yankees' cross town rivals are slip sliding away with only two games left, and anxiety in Queens running at fever pitch, Baseball Prospectus reports on the 13 biggest meltdowns in major league history.
